The GK Swiss delegation, led by Bro. Freddy Clemente, GK Coordinator and Sis. Girlie Dian, Handmaids of the Lord Family (HOLD) Ministry Coordinator of the Couples for Christ community in Geneva, continued the Christmas gift-giving tradition started by CFC Athens, Greece in 2007. They were warmly welcomed by Bro. Ricky Chuaunsu, head of the Couples for Christ South B3 Cluster; Bro. Alex Bautista, Project Director of the GK European Village, the caretaker team, members of the CFC and the beneficiaries. Some Manila-based HOLD leaders who recently served at the October 2008 European Conference in Milan, Italy were also present to support the event. The visitors were treated to a well-prepared presentation by the beneficiaries and their children. The event also gave both givers and recipients to share the sumptous meal prepared by the hosts. Most importantly, the visitors were able to see the progress of the community development and assess the amount of work and resources that need to be done to fully complete the transformation of the village through partnerships between GK teams of CFC Europe and the beneficiaries who are providing the "sweat equity".
The Maralit village is jointly sponsored by all the GK areas in Europe with Greece, Italy and Switzerland commiting to help build 30 homes each while the rest contribute funds for the remaining 26 homes.
